The last gif. My god. He’s too nervous to actually smile, he’s too afraid of being condemned, and he’s too afraid of showing weakness to no avail. He’s waiting for Odin’s reaction, he’s waiting to see if maybe the man he still thinks of as father will accept him as his son and tell him that even though he messed up, everything will be okay, and that he loves him, no matter what, that he is worth it. So he shows that he needs Odin’s acceptance by smiling just a bit. And instead, Odin spits in his face.
